While NEO version of VOCALOID Editor for Cubase was released it is currently the only NEO editor available. However, Crypton's software Piapro Studio is also able to use a NEO vocal that is installed on a Mac computer, without the Cubase editor. Offline Activation of VOCALOID4 Editor for Cubase and Voice Banks (Mac OSX) 1. Select [Macintosh HD] > [Applications] > [VOCALOID] on your computer, and then double-click [VOCALOID License Manager].

So as a musical artist I produce with Reason, but I came to find that I would need a vocalist to be able to carry out some of my dream projects and some experiments (for example, female vocal hardstyle). Being myself, I have no friends (none that I can get help from anyway) and I am not good at singing myself (and I'm a guy, not to mention).
Then when I discovered Vocaloid and read a bit more about it, I realized it would be perfect. The synthesized vocals are amazing, and as a bonus the characters are cute. >w<
I plan on using Miku's voice for the aforementioned female vocal hardstyle project, and I am going to read and watch all the tutorials I can. But I also have a few questions that may not be covered in the tutorial and some Vocaloid users here might be able to answer them.
- A lot of songs I see use either Vocaloid 2 or Vocaloid 3. Is there a significant difference, and if so which is better?
- Do the voices come with Vocaloid or do they need to be downloaded and added separately?
Thanks!

I do all my production on a macbook pro and I was wondering if there's a way to get Vocaloid 4 working outside of bootcamp / running it in a VM.
I have a windows PC which I use for gaming but I'm going to be travelling a lot and would much rather have all my production software on my macbook.
I noticed that the system specs of VY1v4 list OSX under the OS requirements, but the Vocaloid 4 editor is windows only. Does that mean I can just buy VY1v4 by itself without the editor and use it? Wikipedia lists OSX support for Vocaloid 4 but I'd like to get some confirmation that it actually works before I shell out $250...
